MIND MONK

QIGONG

Who does not want to off-load the stress and toxic energies in one’s mind and body after a hectic working day? Who does not want to come back to office everyday with a radiating face and brimming with energy? Well, a simple Chinese exercise called QIGONG will help you achieve this!!

Qigong can be described as a mind-body-spirit practice that improves one’s mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, breathing technique, self-massage, sound, and focused intent. There are likely thousands of qigong styles, schools, traditions, forms, and lineages, each with practical applications and different theories about Qi (“subtle breath” or “vital energy”) and Gong (“skill cultivated through steady practice”).

Physically, slow gentle qigong movements warm tendons, ligaments, and muscles; tone vital organs and connective tissue; and promote circulation of body fluids (blood, synovial, lymph). Qigong is effective in healing life challenges ranging from high blood pressure and chronic illness to emotional frustration, mental stress, and spiritual crisis.

We urge you to give a look at 8 most powerful Qigong exercises for cultivating healing energy in the body at https://www.consciouslifestylemag.com/qigong-exercises-healing-energy/

MARKETS

Markets: SBI Life, Divis Labs to replace Bharti Infratel, ZEE in Nifty50. The market corrected due to weak global cues and a rise in Dollar index after Federal Reserve meeting minutes which raised worries over economic recovery in the US. Banking and financial stocks were at the forefront to drive the fall. Globally, the market volatility is likely to continue owing to the uncertainty regarding the global economic recovery, fresh US-relief package, the US-China tensions, and the increasing coronavirus cases.

BUSINESS LOUNGE

An Ode to Lamborghini

Sant’Agata Bolognese is a small hamlet on the outskirts of Bologna. A TPER bus takes you there from the city terminus for 12 euros. The ride is not remarkable at all. There are certain old villas along the way that is reminiscent of Tuscany but not exactly as pretty. The journey for once is nothing like the destination. Sant’Agata Bolognese is home to the supercar manufacturer Lamborghini. So why are we talking about it here? Well, because it checks all the boxes of what we nowadays call a startup.

Lamborghini’s factory and museum are introduced to your eyes first by wavering flags – Italian, European Union’s. But the real works are waiting inside. After scalping tickets from the hands of the receptionist, the museum is all yours for the next few hours. This is where all my childhood dreams were strewn across the ground and upper floors – in the flesh, or metal rather. The Miura, one of the forefathers of the modern supercar, the Reventon, a car with only angles and no curves in its shape.

Ferruccio Lamborghini began his business in Bologna building tractors out of leftover ruins from post-war Europe. After diversifying into other electronics he came into a bit of money and bought himself a Ferrari. Driving it up and down the streets of Bologna he realized that he was always burning the clutch. On conferring about this problem with Enzo Ferrari, Lamborghini was admonished by the owner of the prancing horse. “You’re just a tractor driver, a farmer,” he told Lamborghini.

Lamborghini sat with his coterie and went on to build a new future of the supercar only 35 km away from the Ferrari factory. Car by supercar, Lamborghini grew by leaps and bounds and in just a few years became the poster boy of every kid. And it remained so all the way to my generation albeit as wallpapers on our computer screens. With time the boutique manufacturers struggled with finances – Ferrari being sold to Fiat, Lamborghini came to be owned by Audi and VW in effect.

Audi brought German efficiency and refinement to the systems infrastructure and stood Lamborghini in good stead in its path of modernization. This allowed Lamborghini to build cars that are not as “mad” as they used to be in the 70s, but even though some purists would disagree, that’s a good thing. It’s easy to say, “Hey they’re good, but they’re no Ferrari”. But that’s exactly what makes it a beautiful story. A plucky “farmer” got into the business of a Formula 1 champion manufacturer and not only survived all these years but matched him step for step. If that’s not an ode to startups I don’t know what is.

5 Theories of Entrepreneurship

Theory helps us to bear our ignorance of facts. If an entrepreneur is a person who settles a business and accepts the associated risk to form a profit, then they are theories that help him/her evaluate a critical situation. Though there are a number of theories that fall in this space, TMT would like you to essentialize these 5 main ones to lead your entrepreneurial ambitions:

Innovation Theory: The theory prioritizes innovation, invention, and self-creation using new combinations, rather than risking on an idea propounded by someone else. This excludes individuals who operate traditional businesses.

Economic Theory:  The theory lays out factors important for the growth of your business, like taxation policy, industrial norms, infrastructure availability, financial flows, and most importantly favorable economic conditions. Sometimes, an entrepreneur needs to coordinate among insufficient resources.

Sociological Theory: The theory says that the entrepreneur should reach the expectations of society. The activities are studied from the social status hierarchy and values. Mostly the social values and attitudes, beliefs, and socio-political environment factors dictate entrepreneurship.

Psychological Theory: Mostly called the Achievement Motivation Theory, it signifies that achievement, affiliation, and power are three needs for personal acquirements and hence it all depends on the decision making ability of the aspirant.

Leadership Theory: This theory is a function of managerial and leadership skills, where an individual needs to have the capability to manage his group. He should be the first mover in risk-taking and daring to manage during uncertain times.
