The Morning Tea- PR

Good morning, we hope that you liked our revamped version of TMT. If there are any suggestions or recommendations, we’d love to hear from you at team@productround.com. Coronavirus deaths exceeded all communicable diseases fatalities in the past 3 years. Russia is expected to register its vaccine this week. The world hopes that Russia provides the ray of hope we’ve been looking forward to.

Here are some words to live with by Norman Vincent Peale to start your day,

The life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress, is the easiest type of existence.

🎖 MIND MONK

A research on news reading habits of people revealed from eye-tracking measures that participants were more likely to veer towards negative headlines despite preferring positive news.

Reading bad news everyday does have deleterious effects on our mental health and doing it first thing in the morning sets you back from the get-go. There are a few good practices you can test yourself to see how best to manage to stay abreast without causing self-harm –

Read less negative news and more positive ones instead. Get a more holistic view of the world rather than just a sum of negative headlines.

While reading negative stories it’s often possible to find some good. Focus on the good parts like people rushing to donate blood after a horrible tragedy.

Focus on perspectives from across the political spectrum to avoid living in an echo chamber. A website called five thirty eight has analysis that’s backed by statistics rather than biased opinions.

Stop reading news some days to recharge. Reading about the things that you love, books that leave you feeling great and a great blog like wait but why which provides so much value but is infrequent are plenty consumption for contentment.

The Banking Story

When Bandhan was granted the banking license by the RBI in 2014, it was the first instance of a microfinance enterprise getting the license in India and also the first instance of a universal bank being set up in the East of India since Independence.

Bandhan Bank’s founder and CEO, Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, grew up in a relatively poor household and had to move to Bangladesh in order to complete his education. After a master’s degree in statistics and a stint with an NGO, he arrived in West Bengal and set up the then microfinance service provider called Bandhan Konnagar with 2 lakhs of capital.

Bandhan started as a not-for-profit enterprise providing microloans to the underprivileged sections of the society. It focussed on financial inclusion and women empowerment through sustainable livelihood creation. Bandhan was built on the back of buttressing women entrepreneurs from the marginalized sections and helping create an avenue for enablement.

They acquired an NBFC to scale up their microfinance activities and in 2010 became the largest MFI in India. Bandhan Bank was granted the universal banking license and the then finance minister inaugurated its first branch in Kolkata. On March 27, 2018, Bandhan Bank got listed on the bourses and became the 8th largest bank in India by market capitalization, on the day of listing itself.

Internet of Things(#2)

Internet of Things- Software and Hardware

IoT Hardware

IoT hardware consists of a remote dashboard, devices for control, servers, routing devices, and sensors. These devices manage the key tasks required for the functioning of an IoT system. Major ones among them being

  1. IoT sensors: These include the accelerometer, gyrometer, magnetometers, etc.
  2. Wearable Electronics: All smart wearables capable of recording data and transmitting it come under this category. This includes smartwatches, clothing, glasses, shoes, etc.
  3. Other standard devices: These are the devices responsible for the control of the system remotely and serve as the command center. This includes desktop, tablets, and phones.

IoT Software

IoT software is responsible for data collection, device integration, analytics, and smart application. They do this on the related hardware that includes embedded systems, partner systems, and middleware. The IoT software can lie in any of the following categories:

  1. Data collection: Software manages the data and is responsible for data collection, integration, and data security. It uses certain protocols for this. This data is transmitted to a central server
  2. Device Integration: This forms the backbone of the IoT system. The software here allows necessary cooperation and networking between the IoT devices
  3. Real-time analytics: The data collected is analyzed, interpreted using Machine Learning and advanced tech to bring actionable insights.
  4. Applications: This enables the IoT system to perform predefined tasks on different devices to put the IoT system into perspective.
